A (INCOMPREHENSIBLE) LIE

In reference to an article I posted about the "Holy Spirit" on a Christian website. I received this reply by Bruce Shaulis Now the Lord is that Spirit: (2 Cor 3:17) he says and gives his proof text below.

2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

He very obviously has been taught the the Lord somehow "replaces" the Holy Spirit. I tried to set him straight bit now it's in Gods hands.

The phrase "the Lord is that Spirit" means the same thing as this verse. Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. The translator i.e. the reformer William Tyndal inserted the cursive words "is and him" for clarity. The original text reads: Joh 4:24 God a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and in truth. The phrase in 2Cor 3:17 "the Spirit of the Lord" is the same as the "phase" God a Spirit in John 4:24 since Jesus is the same as God which He Himself stated here:Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one. The same holds true here as well, the cursive word "my" is an added word and not found in the original text which makes the verse read: "Joh 10:30 I and Father are one." There is NO separation in the GODHEAD, all THREE PERSON act together as ONE GOD, or INDEPENDENTLY of each other as they deem necessary.

We know this truth from the beginning of creation. In Genesis 1:1 it states "Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Since Jesus is the creator of all things as recorded in John 1:1-3. John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. He is also called the "Word" which is equivalent to every word of truth in scripture and more as is stated here:Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Jesus by His power sustains all things in His creation. Jesus, in the beginning, did the actual creative "work" but because the verse in Genesis 1:1 says "God" it means that the entire TRIUNE GODHEAD was present at the creation of the world and humanity. In verse 2 of Genesis 1 we see the actions of the "Holy Spirit." Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. This simply means that God the Spirit i.e. the Holy Spirit "willed it" i.e the creation to take place and Jesus began the actual 'work of creation". So we have God the Father, God the Son, and the Spirit the Holy Spirit all active and present "in the beginning" of creation.

The Lord is NOT the Holy Spirit, nor is the Holy Spirit the Lord, and neither are God the Father. This is why the apostle Paul said in 1st Timothy 3:16 stated and referred to he GODHEAD as the "Mystery of Godliness". 1Ti 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God [the GODHEAD as Jesus is One with the FATHER] was manifest in the flesh, [As Jesus Christ] justified in the Spirit, [By the Holy Spirit at His incarnation and verified at His Baptism by BOTH the Spirit of God that descended from Heaven in the form of Dove and lighted upon Jesus and the the audible voice of God the Father who stated "This is My Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.] seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

All three persons were present when Jesus the Son of God was baptized in the Jorden River by His 1st cousin John the Baptist. As ALL three were present at the physical creation "in the beginning" so also were all three present at the beginning of "Spiritual Restoration" when Jesus began His preaching ministry of redemption. They, the members of the Godhead cannot be separated nor does the Lord assume the work of the Holy Spirit, nor does the Holy Spirit assume the work of the Lord, and neither works independently from the Father. ALL work together, yet ALL work separately, this is why Paul referred to the GODHEAD as being a mystery. No human being will ever have the mind of God, nor can they know it. The human mind cannot fathom God as He IS. That's why personal FAITH in God is so very important and vital to the believer. We must walk by faith not by sight, nor any supposed 'spiritual manifestation" if that manifestation doesn't glorify GOD. 2Co 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

ALL THREE persons of the GODHEAD were present at Jesus Baptism.

Mat 3:16 And Jesus, [The Second Member of the GODHEAD] when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God [The Holy Spirit the THIRD member of the GODHEAD] descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
Mat 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, [God the FATHER] saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Don't ever let anyone tell you that Jesus the "Lord" has replaced the Holy Spirit. Nor has the Holy Spirit replaced the Lord Jesus, and neither would ever replace the Father. If you're being taught that Jesus replaced the Holy Spirit in your bible studies or in your church of choice,

"Don't just walk away from that kind of false teachings but RUN as fast as you can, because that kind of teaching is NOT OF GOD!
