THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST

The Resurrection of Christ

(ALL added "cursive words" have been removed)

1Co 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

1Co 15:2 By which (the gospel) also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

When someone asks you "What exactly is the gospel?" All you need say is that it's the "Life of Jesus Christ as He lived Life")

1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.

1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

Here Paul identifies the "gospel" as the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. But there's much, much more to it than that description. Paul simply condensed it here!

1Co 15:5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

1Co 15:6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

1Co 15:7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

1Co 15:8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

Paul was giving here the eyewitnesses to the resurrection of Jesus. 513 are identified. The "TWELVE" now included Matthias plus the 500, plus Paul himself. Since both Cephas and James were two of the twelve apostles, then 513 eyewitnesses are identified here.

Paul was also the 12th and the 14th apostle. There were 12, Judas' exit left 11, Matthias made up the 12th, but was the work of man casting lots. The original 12 plus Matthias made 13, then came Paul the 14th apostle, but should have been the replacement for Judas Iscariot as one of the 11 left after Judas' betrayal. Paul should have been the 12th apostle joining the 11 after Judas' exit, instead the 11 cast lots and made Matthias the replacement.

God's Mercy accepted their efforts, but it was NOT God's original plan for a replacement for Judas Iscariot. God chose Saul of Tarsus some 3 ½ + years after the fact of the casting of lots to replace Judas. Saul was present in 34 A.D. watching the stoning of Stephen some 3 ½ years after the resurrection of Jesus. Therefore, PAUL was both the twelfth apostle the one that God desired to replace Judas and he Paul was also the 14th Apostle God chose on the road to Damascus.

  • The Original 12 with Judas
  • Became 11 after Judas' betrayal
  • Became 12 again with Matthias but added up together as 13 Apostles chosen
  • Then Came Saul of Tarsus which made 14 total Apostles 13 of which were eyewitnesses of Jesus Resurrection. The reworked 12 with Matthias since Judas did see the resurrected Lord made 12 eyewitnesses, then the 500 brethren, plus Paul made 513 eyewitnesses of the resurrected Jesus Christ.

Number 12 in God's plan, number 13 in man's plan (the original 12 minus 1, plus 1 Matthias) yet number 14 in God's plan. God truly is a Merciful, Patient, Loving, GOD!

1Co 15:9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

1Co 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: (the original 12 minus 1, plus 1 Matthias) yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

1Co 15:11 Therefore whether I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

The Resurrection of the Dead

1Co 15:12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? (Paul here striking a blow at the heart of the religion of the Sadducees who didn't believe in the resurrection)

1Co 15:13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen. (Isn't Christ then still in the tomb?)

1Co 15:14 And if Christ be not risen, (still in the tomb) then our preaching vain, and your faith also vain.

1Co 15:15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, (in your beliefs) if so be that the dead rise not.

1Co 15:16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:

1Co 15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith vain; ye are yet in your sins. (You have NO SAVIOR!)

1Co 15:18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

1Co 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. (Here Paul was saying that for the believer they have hope in Christ even in their death)

1Co 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, become the firstfruits of them that slept. (Here Pauls identifies the first physical death, the same as Jesus referred to it when Lazarus died. The dead are asleep in their graves, they are NOT in heaven's bliss as you're taught today by fake ministers.)

1Co 15:21 For since by man (ADAM) death, by man (JESUS CHRIST) also the resurrection of the dead.

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (This is CORPORATE HUMANITY, first in Adam secondly in Jesus Christ)

1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. (Here Paul makes it clear that the dead in Jesus Christ will not be considered a "fruit of the righteousness of Jesus Christ UNTIL he comes.)

1Co 15:24 Then the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. (What end is Paul speaking of here? Is it the end when Jesus returns the second time? NO! Emphatically NO! The end Paul is speaking of is the time when Jesus Himself becomes subject to the Heavenly Father, which doesn't take place until the end of the 1000 years when Jesus "recreates" the Heavens and the Earth and heaven begins for the saints.)

1Co 15:25 For he (Jesus) must reign, (OverALL) till he hath put all enemies under his feet. (This won't occur until after the wicked are destroyed in the Lake of Fire when the "full end" spoken of here:Jer 4:27 For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end. The "full end" will come at the end of the 1000 years.)

1Co 15:26 The last enemy shall be destroyed death. (Death i.e. eternal death will be destroyed in the Lake of Fire and will make the full end)

1Co 15:27 For he (God the Father) hath put all things under his (JESUS') feet. But when he (God the Father) saith all things are put under, (JESUS' FEET) manifest that he (JESUS) is excepted, which did put all things under him. (Under His own Feet)

1Co 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, (God the Father) then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him (God the Father) that put all things under him, (JESUS' FEET) that God (AS GOD YHWH) may be all in all.

1Co 15:29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead? (Your baptism into Christ would be useless if there was no resurrection from the dead)

1Co 15:30 And why stand we in jeopardy every hour? (If we believe there's no resurrection)

1Co 15:31 I protest (This kind of unbelief) by your rejoicing (By your belief in Jesus) which I have (ALSO) in Christ Jesus our Lord, (And because of my belief in Jesus) I die daily.

1Co 15:32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.

1Co 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, (In Jesus Christ) and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak to your shame.

The Resurrection Body

1Co 15:35 But some will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?

1Co 15:36 fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die. (The body cannot be raised incorruptible and immortal unless it dies in Jesus Christ which involves willfully dying to self before your die physically.)

1Co 15:37 And that which thou sowest, (As a Saint of God in the flesh although it's corrupt in the flesh) thou sowest not that body that shall be, (Which is a glorified flesh resurrected in Jesus Christ) but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other. (This verse parallels the statement of Jesus made here: Joh 12:24Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.Paul is drawing a parallelthat "new life" comes from death in Jesus Christ.)

1Co 15:38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. (In the Resurrection)

1Co 15:39 All flesh not the same flesh: but one flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, another of birds.

1Co 15:40 also celestial bodies, (i.e. Angels of God and other worlds) and bodies terrestrial: (The "flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, another of birds) but the glory of the celestial one, (The resurrected glorified body) and the of the terrestrial another. (Different issues altogether, Paul is drawing the comparison for his listeners of the differences that will be found at the resurrection)

1Co 15:41 one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for star differeth from star in glory.

1Co 15:42 So also the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

1Co 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

1Co 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. (QUESTION for you to consider here: If the "spiritual body" i.e. the celestial body doesn't exist until the resurrection, then how can any dead human being be found in heaven immediately after their death on earth? The answer is they can't! No one goes to heaven when they die a saint immediately. That doctrine is heresy in its finest and is taught by every fake minister on the planet today)

1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam (JESUS CHRIST) a quickening spirit.

1Co 15:46 Howbeit that not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. ((There's a SPECIFIC ORDER which requires a resurrection FIRST))

1Co 15:47 The first man of the earth, (ADAM) earthy: the second man the Lord (JESUS) from heaven.

1Co 15:48 As the earthy, (ADAM) such they also that are earthy: (ALL MANKIND) and as the heavenly, (JESUS CHRIST) such they also that are heavenly. (The SAINTS of GOD)

1Co 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, (ADAM in the flesh) we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. (JESUS in the SPIRIT)

Mystery and Victory

1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood (ADAM i.e. MANKIND) cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption (Death Rigor) inherit incorruption.

1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, (Some saints alive when Jesus returns) but we shall all be changed, (Everyone will need a change in order to live with God to immortality and incorruption)

1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (In context this entire chapter makes it very clear that no one who dies goes immediately to heaven)

1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, (At the Resurrection and not before that time) and this mortal put on immortality. (And since Paul states that this doesn't happen until the "Last Trump" no one who has died in Jesus Christ has gone immediately into the heavens)

1Co 15:54 So when (At the Resurrection) this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. (Because you have been raised in Christ and have been given your reward of eternal life with Him at that time. Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.)

1Co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where thy victory?

1Co 15:56 The sting of death sin; and the strength of sin the law.

1Co 15:57 But thanks to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Co 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Now go back to your fake preacher and tell him/her what you have learned from God's word, tell them that what they preach about the state of the dead is a lie, tell them that they are "wolves in a sheep's dress" and tell them you're leaving their phony ministry. No wonder there is are mostly godless generations born since the boomer era. Most of those who stand in the pulpits in every modern denomination are preaching and teaching lies, and the sad part is they think they know the word of God.
