A MORE EXCELLENT NAME!

When Paul Spoke of JESUS

Heb 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

What did Paul mean? When was Jesus "made" so much better than the angels? How was Jesus made better than the angels? The word "made" here is NOT what we understand "as to make something." In the case of God, all He need do is to speak it and it's made the instant He speaks it. In the case of Jesus, He wasn't ever made by the spoken word of God. Jesus is GOD long before He was ever "begotten" i.e. born in Bethlehem as the Son of God. The determination of God to and through and by His Grace to redeem fallen mankind was determined long before mankind himself was created. Long before the world was created.

What inheritance was Paul speaking of? How could God the Son inherit a "more excellent name" than the name He already had that was MICHAEL which means "The ONE who IS as GOD IS?" The key lies in the humanity of Christ i.e. the "Anointed for a special work" Savior of the World. Through His, Christ redemptive work which was a "new work" necessary for God, that had never before been needed in all eternity past, it wasn't needed until the fall of humanity.

It is through the redemptive work of Jesus the Son of God, that He through His redemptive work of a fallen creation, that He inherited a more excellent name BEFORE the angels than what He was already known by the angels as MICHAEL, now He Jesus was seen not only as MICHAEL by the angels, but also seen by them as JESUS the Anointed of God for a specific reason because of the Love of God. It is in this respect that Jesus obtained i.e. inherited a more excellent name than any angel could have.

How did Jesus have a more "excellent name" than the angels? When did all this happen? Long before the creation of the world? Long in eternity past God chose to provide a "plan of redemption" before there was ever any creation of God fallen. NOTHING TAKES GOD BY SURPRISE! In other words God provided the way of escape from eternal death, long before eternal death appeared in Eden at the fall. It was this form of death, that God spoke of when He told Adam: Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. There is only one form of death to God, that is eternal death, the death NO ONE comes back from, but GOD HIMSELF and that's because HE IS GOD!

Any other form of death is just the cessation of life as God is able to raise the dead who have not experienced the eternal death. Physical death for God is mere "sleep" as Jesus revealed when He told the disciples Lazarus Sleepeth! Even though even a baby in Christ understands this, yet none of those same babies can process the truth of it when it comes to their beliefs of "eternal hell punishment." They are not capable of understanding that should God allow (which He won't) for the "wicked in the Lake of Fire" to burn eternally, then God Himself would be propagating "eternal SIN" in those jumping around in the flames. The doctrine of eternal hell punishment is HERESY to the enth degree. Yet many who claim to know Christ i.e. God don't really know Him at all, they only think they know Him. The question really is "Does He know You" does Jesus Christ see you as one of His saints, when your beliefs do NOT and are NOT in line with His truths? What does God say about this through the prophet Isaiah? Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Friends, having a relationship with a "HOLY GOD" is not something you believe you have, it's something you KNOW you have through the light He has given you. You cannot know that you have it, if what you believe is in the dark spiritually and against His truth. Jesus said: Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, (HOME) the truth, (In it's ENTIRETY) and the life: (Eternal) no man (NONE without Exception) cometh unto the Father, (Comes HOME) but by (And Through) me. QUESTION: How then does the saint "son or daughter of God" find their way home? ANSWER: Through the law and the testimony. What does that mean? Through the law and the testimony. It doesn't say "through the law or the testimony" which involves both the law of God and the testimony of the prophets i.e. the preaching of the prophets concerning the law of God and their personal testimonies as being saints of God themselves.

QUESTION: Which was the only prophet of God in the record of scripture that God so manifested His glory that the people of Israel couldn't look upon Him when He came down from being in the presence of God? MOSES! Who gave the written (law of God) to the people? It was Jesus Christ through Moses that the law of God was written in stone by the finger of God Himself, and God told MOSES to give the written law now in stone to the people. Jesus, then tells us this! Luk 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. If you do not study the life of Moses and the prophets and believe what Moses taught, you cannot even accept the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The phrase Jesus used here of "though one rose from the dead" Jesus was speaking of His own resurrection.

This is why Isaiah said "To the law and to the testimony!" If you don't have a knowledge of God's Word as being a believer, you're only a believer in your own mind, you have "no light" within you. When God in His infinite Wisom, Grace, Mercy, mixed with His love for His own creation decided that He would create a being in His own Image. There was much more involved than God just arbitriarly deciding to make a "man" the man Adam. Adam was just the beginning of a creation specifically made by God to sit in the judgment i.e. God created a "jury" who would determine the fate of the fallen angels, in order to show His divine justice tht must be rendered against them was to be determined by those who lived in and through sin on theis world and would have the most experience with sin, that they woulc make a just choice against the fallen angels as they will have lived through sin and conquered sin in their lives through accepting Him as their redeemer.

Thus this would show the unfallen creation that even in the judgment against Iniquity would be a just decision made NOT by Himself, but by those who experienced sin first hand. Paul said: 1Co 6:2,3 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? If you do not spend time in the word of God to know the truth, you are none of His, even if you have spent your entire life in worship. You have to have a personal knowledge, a deep knowledge of God's word. This is what Paul meant when He said to Timothy: 2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

When God determined to create mankind it was for more than that "man" should exist as a creature of creation. There was much more involved friends. Long before the creation of this Earth the determination had already been made by GOD, MICHAEL, and the witness of the HOLY SPIRIT in the recorded Council of Peace. Both Isaiah and Jeremiah fully grasp the council of peace. It was in that council that MICHAEL agreed to leave His rightful place in Heaven and at the right time as the FATHER decreed, He MICHAEL would be born of a human woman whom God chose as the Savior of the World. Michael would BRANCH out and come to this Earth as Jesus the Only Begotten through a human woman Son of God IMMANUEL God with Us.

Zec 6:12,13 And speak unto him, (MICHAEL) saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, (The Entire GODHEAD was in AGREEMENT together on this decision) saying, Behold the man (God, MICHAEL would become a "man" upon the Earth for the purpose of REDEMPTION) whose name is The BRANCH; and he (MICHAEL will grow up as a "MAN" on this Earth) shall grow up out of his (Rightful) place, (In HEAVEN) and he (MICHAEL as JESUS walking the Earth) shall build (Establish) the temple (The CHURCH) of the LORD: Even he (MICHAEL as JESUS walking the Earth) shall build the temple (The CHURCH) of the LORD; and he (MICHAEL as JESUS walking the Earth) shall bear the glory, (As the SON of GOD) and shall sit and rule upon his throne; (JESUS had a Throne in Heaven "as MICHAEL" long before He returned to Heaven "as JESUS the SAVIOR of the WORLD" after the RESURRECTION) and he (MICHAEL as JESUS walking the Earth) shall be a (The HIGH) priest upon his (Own) throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. (The FATHER and MICHAEL as JESUS the SON).

When Isaiah spoke of this truth he stated it like this:Isa 4:2 In that day shall the branch of the LORD (MICHAEL as JESUS walking the Earth) be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth (the Redeemed SAINTS) shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. And here Isaiah calls Jesus the "Branch" just as the FATHER called Michael in the council of peace made between them both, the "man" who is the BRANCH. Isa 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The term "a Branch" specifies the specific article of ONE (a Branch) a Savior of the World. Isa 60:21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. Here Isaiah is speaking as the "EVERLASTING FATHER HIMSELF" in the terms "Thy people" who would be the redeemed saints of God, and in the phrase "the branch" is speaking of both the SAVIOR of the World and those He redeemed. The "branch of my planting" is speaking of MICHAEL as JESUS the SAVIOR as it was the FATHER who planted the SON begotten of a human woman upon the Earth. The BRANCH from heaven is said to be "the work of my hands, that I may be glorified."

Then Jeremiah says: Jer 23:5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. This righteous Branch is Jesus Christ friends. Jesus is the King of Heaven and His work here will prosper, His justice and judgment is righteous in the Earth and will be so for all eternity when the Earth is recreated the home of the redeemed. Jeremiah goes on to say again: Jer 33:15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. JESUS is the BRANCH of the Council of Peace made between the FATHER and MICHAEL long before MICHAEL became JESUS upon the Earth. Both prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah fully understood the Council of Peace. Many today are completely in the dark about what God the FATHER did with MICHAEL agreeing to become the REDEEMER known as Jesus Christ i.e. JESUS which means SAVIOR anointed the CHRIST of GOD for the purpose of redemption. Zechariah says: Zec 3:8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.

Joshua the man who led Israel into the Promised Land was never a high priest. So the uses of the personal name Joshua here can be rendered "JESUS" i.e Yashua and therefore read as this. Zec 3:8(a) Hear now, O JESUS the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee for they are men wondered at for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH. JESUS is the BRANCH of GOD from heaven who is also MICHAEL whose name means "The ONE who IS as GOD IS!"

Jesus spoke of himself as the same "branch" in: Mat 24:32,33 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his (The FATHER'S) branch (which signifies new life in the budding in the spring of the fig tree) is yet tender, (Young which signifies the early age that Jesus would be, yet tender in life when He ws crucified on the Cross) and putteth forth leaves, (Gathers His first disciples together in a NEW LIFE) ye know that summer is nigh: (Attention drawn to the life of the Fig Tree) So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, (Attention drawn to the Second Coming of Jesus i.e. the BRANCH. Jesus wasn't speaking of the new life of the fig tree alone here, He was speaking of the signs that would reveal His return to Earth to award the NEW LIFE to those who believed) know that it is near, even at the doors. There is a double meaning to the parable of the "fig tree" aside from its yearly budding here. The fig tree was a "show and tell" so-to-speak in that when Jesus was speaking of "new life" which only comes through Himself, (The BRANCH from Heaven) He used this parable of the "fig tree" coming back to life with new life in the spring as an example of the resurrected saints when Jesus returns.

Here Jesus refers to Himself as the "VINE." Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch (From the VINE who is the original BRANCH) cannot bear fruit of itself, (as a branch from the BRANCH) except it abide in the vine; (The vine here to the Hebrew mind is the whole picture of both the root, the branch, and the vines of the "grape plants) no more can ye, (Grow) except ye abide in me. (The ROOT BRANCH from Heaven)

So when Paul said: That Jesus' name is "so much better than the angels" this is what he was saying, that because of what GOD had done through MICHAEL as JESUS upon the Earth as the Savior of the WORLD, as a man i.e. the GODMAN IMMANUEL, that because of what JESUS accomplished in the redemption on the Cross, He through His self-sacrifice obtained a better name before the angels than what He had before the Cross as MICHAEL. Because it revealed the true Love of God for His creation in that God had rather die Himself than lose you or me. No angel of the highest order could have accomplished what Jesus accomplished as the Redeemer of fallen man, and because of this Paul says that "Jesus now has "a more excellent name than they" before God, the FATHER because Jesus IS GOD the SON, no longer just MICHAEL the "ONE who IS as GOD IS, but more than that now. Jesus is the ONE who IS GOD, but now with an inheritance as the SON of GOD, begotten of GOD as part of the Creation of God, YET God Himself, and the FATHER even called JESUS GOD to honor Him with HIMSELF. It is in this aspect of Pauls statement of "Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they."

It does NOT mean that Jesus was any the less in His relationship as a member of the GODHEAD. It does MEAN that JESUS is now seen among the unfallen creation as GREATER than He was seen by them before the CROSS. They can fully see the LOVE of GOD in CHRIST with a clearer understanding than what they had before the CROSS. This is what is meant by the phrase "Being made so much better than the angels." NOT that MICHAEL was less before the assuming of His earthly body as a man, but the Cross revealed much more to the angelic host other than just the death of Jesus. They saw the truth of what SIN left unchecked by GOD would do, that it would kill God Himself and this realization is what gave "a more excellent name than they" previously understood.
